Altered Cigar Box - Wedding Themed

Yet another one of my altered cigar boxes for the Simon Says Stamp Inside the Box Monday Challenge. This one is wedding themed...hope you enjoy!

Smile Altered Cigar Box

I'm loving the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge so much that I thought I would enter another one of my altered cigar boxes.  This one was made using papers from the Kaisercraft Blubelle Collection.  The paper rose was cut using the Spellbinders Donna Salazar Rose Creations etched die set and was hand-shaped by me.  This box has a small mirror on the inside lid, which I thought fit perfectly with the SSS Inside the Box theme!  I also keep journaling cards inside the box, several have a positive message printed on the front (an example of one is pictured below).

Today I came across the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge and decided I would enter one of my altered cigar boxes.  This particular box was inspired by my love of playing with paper.  The papers are from the Paper Dolls line, designed by Julie Nutting for the Photo Play Paper Company.  The paper rose was cut using the Spellbinders Donna Salazar Rose Creations etched die set, and was hand-shaped by me :)

Paper Smooches Blog Hop

I can't believe it's been four years since I last posted on my blog!  I've always hoped to come back, and no time like the present...right?  A lot has changed since I was last active on my blog, perhaps the most significant being that my family and I moved from a townhouse to a single family home.  We are still in Northern Virginia, just further west.  Another change is that I'm no longer a consultant for CTMH, but I still buy their products occasionally from a friend who sells them.  Her name is Hannah Ahn and you can visit her CTMH website here.  In the past six months or so, I've become addicted...literally...to following several bloggers who are well known in the paper crafting industry.  In addition to blogging, several of them sell their own line of products, which include stamps, inks, papers, dies, and/or numerous other items we crafters love!  One of these companies, Paper Smooches, just released a new stamp set and several dies, which you can see on their blog.  As part of this release, the PS Design Team created several cards to showcase ways you may use the products.  To see their artwork, hop on over to each of their blogs starting here.

Next Scrap Night

On March 25, two lovely ladies joined me for a scrapping session.  One of these ladies lent me her Cricut machine so that I could play around until we meet for the next scrap night...thank you Colleen!  I have played a little bit, but not nearly as much as I would like...you know how it is...working by day, mothering by night...:)

I'm back!!!  it's been a little more than a year since my last post.  In all that time, life has been hectic...especially with my day job as a social worker.  However, I am finally coming up for air and it seems like things are becoming more manageable at work. 

So, now that my day job is easing up, I can focus more time and energy on my late night crafting...LOL.  I'm really excited about hosting some  scrapping sessions at my home in my "crafting cave" - kind of like a man cave, only with better stuff...like stamps, paper, ink, ribbons, etc.....you know, all that stuff we girlie crafters like to play with!!!  The first scrapping session in 2012 is this coming Sunday, March 25.  I have a couople of ladies joining me and I'm hoping to post some pics afterward so you'll have to check back next week to see us in action.
